Head coach of Odion Ighalo Football Football Club, Ambrose Duru has expressed delight that his team came from behind to draw Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club in a friendly match played recently at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos.
Both teams played 1-1 at the full time in an encounter watched by few spectators.
Duru in a chat with Journalists said he was happy that the pulsating tie ended in draw saying that his mission was to beat Eletu before the game.
“I came to win the game unfortunately it ended in draw.It was a good match because both teams played well.They used the ball well and played on the ground.
“I am delighted because we did not lose to Eletu today.The the last time we played them at the Agege stadium ended in draw,”he said.
In his own comment, Eletu assistant coach,Adegolu Oluwatimilehin Israel blamed his players for conceding late minute equaliser.
“It was a painful result because we had the opportunity to bury the match but unfortunately we did not take our chances and we dearly paid for it,”he said.
Divine Victor scored superb goal from outside box eighteen but the goal was cancelled by Micheal Nwachukwu in the 89th minutes to deny Eletu boys victory.
In a related development, Prince Kazeem Eletu Academy fell 1-2 to Fortune Academy in another friendly match at the Onikan Stadium.
Onagbola Usman cancelled the goal deficit but their opponents snatched late victory through Anyim Godswill to triumph over Eletu academy.
