The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. David Olusegun Odunmbaku, has advised members of the Council’s Revenue Committee to work with companies and market men & women for mutual benefits, growth and development.

Odunmbaku made this call during a revenue meeting at the Council Secretariat on Thursday 31st March.

According to the Mayor, all tax payers and responsible corporate citizens are eligible for interventions and empowerment as and when due.

“We are not just here to collect tax, we are also here to do things that would justify why we collect taxes. Not just projects or road but programmes and interventions. We are also looking at how we can play our role as government to help them grow. We are on this course (interventions) in all our markets.”

Members of the Council’s Revenue Committee were also charged on the need to be professional and proactive particularly during engagements for tax collection.

“This would be a target driven exercise that is transparent and hassle-free. There will be no cash collection at any point as all payment would be directed to the revenue account. The e-billing platform has been activated for easy transaction of tax payment”, the Chairman, Odunmbaku said.

In his remark, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Bunmi Oluyadi, corroborated the Mayor, and Council Treasurer, Mrs. Adedipe Oluyemisi, by urging the Revenue members to deal peaceably with the tax payers and avoid confrontations at all cost.

Likewise, in order to fully commence the revenue drive and acclimatize with necessary/prescribed duties, the Executive Chairman slated an inauguration ceremony to hold in April.

Also present at the meeting were the Council’s Legal Officer, Barr. Afolabi Kalejaiye, Revenue Chairman Mr Sola Adeleye and other members of the Revenue Committee.
