It is official as the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo would still remain the running mate of President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, disclosed this on Monday during an interview with State House Correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The presidential spokesman said the victories recorded by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in legislative elections held in three states over the weekend were indications that victory is certain for the Buhari/Osinbajo presidential ticket in 2019.
While expressing the gratitude of the Presidency to Nigerians for the victories, Shehu assured them that the administration would not relent in delivering good governance and other promises it made in 2015.
The Presidential aide again appealed to the National Assembly to cut short their recess as there are urgent matters of importance, including budget shortfalls and its implementation, that need to be addressed for the benefit of Nigerians.
Shehu further noted that vote buying during elections remains an offence and citizens have a duty to report such incidences to law enforcement agents.
