Ogbakor Ikwerre Lauds Dr Chidi Lloyd’s Developmental Strides In Emohua

The Ogbakor Ikwerre Cultural Organization has expressed happiness with the Infrastructural development initiated across Emohua local government area within the first one hundred days of the administration of Dr Chidi Lloyd.


The apex cultural organization in Ikwerre ethnic nationality noted that Emohua Local Government area is presently witnessing massive infrastructural development because it has an experienced chairman who is committed to changing the narrative in the area.

Addressing members of the press when the leadership of Ogbakor Ikwerre cultural organization embarked on an inspection of the projects being executed across Emohua Local Government Area by the administration of Dr Chidi Lloyd on Tuesday, the President General of Ogbakor Ikwerre (Worldwide), Prof. Emenike Wami, said the leadership of Ogbakor Ikwerre is very happy with the achievements of Dr Chidi Lloyd in Emohua Local Government Area within his first one hundred days in office, stating that the Council Chairman was very much prepared for the office he is occupying.



Speaking  further, Prof Wami said the achievements of Dr Chidi Lloyd within the very short time did not come as a surprise because of the track record of the Council Chairman when he represented Emohua Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, stating that the people of Emohua Local Government Area did not make any mistake in choosing Dr Chidi Lloyd to lead the Local Government Council at this point in the history of the Local Government Area.


He urged the Chairman of Emohua LGA  to share ideas with his counterparts from the other three Ikwerre Local Government areas (Ikwerre, Obio-Akpor and Port Harcourt) on how to advance development across the four Ikwerre Local Government Areas.

He further expressed happiness with the performance of the present crop of council chairmen across the four Ikwerre Local Government Areas and urged the Council Chairmen to identify with the leadership of Ogbakor Ikwerre at their respective zones and LGAs to further advance development across the Ikwerre ethnic Nationality.



Prof Wami however, called for an all inclusive government, that will give sense of belonging not only to members of the ruling political party (PDP) but also to members of the opposition political parties, as well as the apolitical citizens, emphasizing that every elected government official is a representative of all irrespective of political interest.

The Ogbakor Ikwerre President prayed God to grant Dr Chidi Lloyd the strength and wisdom, as well as the resources to achieve his dream of repositioning Emohua Local Government Area.


Former Head of Service / Secretary to Rivers State Government and one time President General of Ogbakor Ikwerre, Chief Sampson Agbaru, Former President of Ogbakor Ikwerre and erstwhile Vice Chancellor of Rivers State University (then Rivers State University of Science and Technology), Prof. Simeon Chituru Achinewhu, Chairman of Ikwerre Chiefs and Elders Forum, Eze Paul Wonodi and other notable leaders of Ogbakor Ikwerre also took turns to appreciate the infrastructural development initiated across Emohua local government area by the administration of Dr Chidi Lloyd within one hundred days in office, describing the council chairman as a round beg in a round hole.


The Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Dr Chidi Lloyd said he is grateful to the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Emohua Local Government Area for finding him worthy to lead the council upon his return to the party, amidst other very qualified members of the party who have been working tirelessly for the party before his return, stressing that the only way to reciprocate their support is to bring democratic dividends to the people of the area.

The council chairman thanked the Ogbakor Ikwerre cultural organization for championing the political emancipation of the people of Ikwerre ethnic nationality which has brought government closer to the people.



Dr Lloyd also expressed deep gratitude to the Governor of Rivers State, H.E Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for his exemplary leadership which the council chairman said has been a great source of inspiration to him since his assumption of office.

Meanwhile, Dr Lloyd has disclosed that his administration will be embarking on other critical Infrastructural development across the Emohua Local Government Area.



The council chairman said that consultations were ongoing with some of the wards that were not captured in the first phase of Project flag off to identify the projects to be sited in those areas in the next phase of project flag off in the Local Government Area.

The Project sites visited include the construction of ultramodern Emohua Local Government Council Secretariat building, council canteen building,. construction of 1 Kilometer Ubimini road, 1 Kilometer Eveku community road, 1.5 Kilometer Ukeli road in Rundele, the local government healthcare center, the local government vigilante services secretariat building, the fencing and gatehouse project at the divisional police Headquarters and the Court complex in Rumuji, the  already completed Titan Trust Bank ATM gallery and the electrification project at the council secretariat, as well as the ultramodern convenience that is already in use at Council Secretariat.

The Council Chairman and his visitors later retired to a reception at his country home in Akpabu community, Emohua Local Government Area.


Dr Lloyd was joined by the Vice Chairman of Emohua LGA, Hon Mrs. Edna Nyeche, Leader of Emohua Legislative Council, Hon Mrs. Love Nyenke and members of the Legislative Council, Secretary of the council, Chief Vincent Chukwu and members of the Executive Council and other principal officers of the council.
