Ogbomoso North State Assembly Race: Babatunde Olaogun Gets Nod of APC Leaders In Abogunde Ward

The race for the Ogbomoso North State Constituency seat has taken a new turn as a leading aspirant, Hon. Babatunde Olaogun, has secured the endorsement of All Progressives Congress leaders in his Abogunde Ward.

The development came after a strategic meeting of Ward stakeholders held Sunday, April 19 where all the leaders unanimously threw their weight behind Olaogun, describing him as “a grassroots mobilizer with the competence, experience, character, and capacity to deliver quality representation.”

Speaking on behalf of the Ward leaders, the Abogunde Ward Chairman, Mr Ariyo, stated that their decision followed extensive consultations and assessment of aspirants from the ward.

“Babatunde Olaogun has shown consistency in party affairs, loyalty to the APC structure, and genuine concern for the welfare of our people. He is our consensus choice going into the primaries,” he said.

In his acceptance remarks, Olaogun expressed gratitude to the leaders for the confidence reposed in him.

He pledged to run an issue-based campaign focused on youth empowerment, education, healthcare, and infrastructural development across Ogbomoso North.

“This is not about me. It is about giving Ogbomoso North a strong, audible voice at the State Assembly. With your support, we will build on the gains of our party and deliver dividends of democracy to every ward,” Olaogun said.

Party faithful and supporters at the meeting erupted in chants, signaling the beginning of what many described as a “decisive momentum” ahead of the APC primaries.

Olaogun, a Microbiologist, Public Administrator and Politician, is contesting for the Oyo State House of Assembly seat to represent Ogbomoso North Constituency under the All Progressives Congress.
