Astute businessman, Veteran Nollywood producer and Igbo culture advocate, Comr. Harris Chuma-Odili, PhD (Ogene Igbo), has expressed his readiness to commence the building of modern public toilets across the six villages in Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government area of Anambra State.
Making the disclosure at his Azu Ogbunike Country home, Ogene Igbo said, “In line with my belief that our people deserves the very best, I’ve decided to contribute my bit by providing modern public toilets across our town, Ogbunike”.
“The Initiative is borne out of my desire for an improved public hygiene. It’s rather absurd that in this age and time, our people when nature calls will have to use the bushes and other people’s farms especially at our markets.”
“Our town, Ogbunike, is one of the most industrialized towns not just in Oyi Local Government area but the State as a whole. For the records, Ogbunike plays host to five commercial banks, the biggest building materials markets, the largest food, beverage and cosmetic markets, the largest abattoir, the largest mechanic village, the most attractive tourism site, the massive industrial estate, including the abandoned and underdeveloped Ogbunike Cave.”
“I therefore, feel there’s a need for modern public toilets for the health of our people and for decent environment. I’m of the belief that the initiative, when completed, will help ameliorate the plight of traders, their customers and other residents in our community. I know that God will give me the strength to complete them in good time” Ogene Igbo concluded.
