The Ogun State Police Command in view of the forthcoming Easter celebration, has assured residents of the state of robust security arrangements that the Command has put in place in order to ensure hitch free Easter celebration.
According to a release by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has strategically deployed police men and women across the nooks and crannies of the State with a clear mandate of ensuring crime free Easter celebration.
According to the PPRO, men of the special units such as FSARS, PMF, Tactical Response and Intelligence units, Anti-Kidnapping and Cultism sections have also been deployed to nip in the bud any violent crime that may rear its ugly head.
He said that Area Commanders and DPOs were further ordered and directed to carry out 24 hours surveillance patrols around the various worship as well as events and recreational centers across the State. And with that any criminal who ventures into any part of the State will meet his waterloo.
The Commissioner of Police CP Ahmed Iliyasu while felicitating with Christian faithfuls and the good people of Ogun state enjoined them to reflect on the reasons for the Easter celebration and be good ambassadors of Christ by ensuring peace at all times.
He also appealed to members of the public to alert the police whenever and wherever they notice any strange, suspicious faces, gathering or movement in their domains in order to assist the security agencies to perform their duties to the optimal level, as security is everybody’s business.
