The President and Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, is scheduled to visit Abeokuta, Ogun State on Tuesday 12th February, 2019, to address the APC presidential campaign rally.

In view of this, the Ogun State Police Command in collaboration with other security agencies has put in place elaborate security measures to forestall any form of violence including thuggery and hooliganism before, during and after the visit of Mr. President.

The Command’s special units namely, the PMF, SARS, Anti-Kidnapping and Cultists Unit, SIB, State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, as well as all the Area Commands and Divisions, have been fully mobilized and put on red alert by the Commissioner of Police to provide the needed security and checkmate activities of unscrupulous elements who might want to use the opportunity of the campaign to wreak violence on innocent members of the public.
The Command wishes to reiterate its stance against crime and criminality, and will therefore not tolerate any act capable of undermining the peace of the State, and cause embarrassment to the Commander-in-Chief.  The Ogun Police Command will not hesitate to deal decisively with anybody or group who attempts to foment any form of trouble or engage in any act of thuggery and hooliganism during the visit.  The law, as is well known, is no respecter of anybody.
Ogun State is known nationwide as a peaceful state. The Commissioner of Police therefore enjoins the good people of the State to join hands in making the visit of Mr. President a hitch-free one.
