The representative of Ogun West and the Minority Whip of the National Youth Parliament, Hon. Oyede Oke Adeniyi, has instituted legal proceedings against Azeem Oladimeji Salako, an online Troller, over defamatory publication aimed at denting his image.
Azeem Oladimeji Salako had on 21st January, 2023, reportedly published a dematory article titled “Setting The Records Straight” on XPOINTNEWS. COM platform. He was also said to have shared defamatory words on different WhatsApp groups, where he accused Hon Oyede Oke Adeniyi of criminal allegations, which he was not able to prove after demand to substantiate his claims.
Since it was obvious that his target was just to destroy Hon Oyede Oke Adeniyi’s good name and character, Barrister Habeeb Whyte from RRA Solicitors & Advocates, on behalf of Hon Oyede, has instituted legal proceedings against Azeem Oladimeji Salako while demanding that within 7 days he should write a letter of apology to Hon Oyede and publish same in National newspapers – Punch and The Nation. He was equally equally warned to desist from making further posts and mandated to make a disclaimer in the aforementioned national newspapers. Not only that, Azeem Oladimeji Salako is required to pay a N5m compensation to Hon Oyede for damages to his good name and character.
