“You must refuse to let the animalistic tendency of others to influence your emotional equilibrium and avoid engaging in conflict with those engrossed with illusions of the mind and illiteracy.”
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the statement above was the submission of the former General Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Everest Ozonweke (Onowu), on the heels of unwarranted campaign of calumny and attacks against him by Chief Aguene, whom he described as an illiterate dancing naked in the public.
Chief Onowu, as popularly known, revealed that he decided not to join issues with Chief Aguene over the years because of his (Ozonweke) decent nature and love for peace but due to  Chief Aguene’s recent comments against him, he decided to respond for clarity.
He stated: “Throughout my leadership tenure in Ohanaeze Lagos State, I have imbibed some principles and wisdom, which have always been my guiding light, comfort and renewed determination, despite the campaign of calumny, character assassination, and intense criticisms I have received from Solomon Ogbonna. I have remained firmly, focused and refrained from stooping so low to respond to Solomon Aguene’s level of irresponsibility”.
Chief Ozonweke regretted that it was sad for Aguene, who once occupied the respected position as President of Ohanaeze, though by accident, to have shamefully built his life on frivolities and unintelligent lies devoid of dignity and nobility required of a leader.
“Chief Solomon Ogbonna lacks credibility and minimum qualification for any leadership position, not even a family meeting. Sadly too, he struggles with inexposure, self inflicted inferiority complex and hardly literate enough to engage well in common communication, which turned his tenure disastrous to Ndigbo in Lagos State.”
Ozonweke stated that he was compelled to address his baseless and myopic allegations against him and will be doing so with verifiable evidence beyond reasonable doubt to the public, which he aims at deceiving and had always been his stock in trade.
He stated that during his tenure as the  General Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos Chapter, he was dedicated in serving the great Igbo Nation in that capacity with excellent managerial skills which impacted Ohanaeze Ndigbo positively without Solomon Ogbonna contributions.
“I make bold to state here that almost every developmental action undertaken by Ohanaeze Lagos between 2018 and 2022 was conceived by me and driven from my office. I conceive and develop ideas, present to Solomon as my principal, being the President. He approves for execution, contributing nothing and knowing nothing to contribute. He only turned into a tiger when it is positive and fruitful.”
“My stewardship as Secretary of Ohanaeze Lagos Chapter left behind the following legacies, just to mention but a few; Leadership training for elected executive members, membership data collation, set up well structured Local Government Administration template, secured crucial bi-latral relationship with  European communities in Lagos, developed and maintained a smooth synergy with Lagos State Government and parastatals Secured Ohanaeze Lagos Chapter in government protocol list, developed and maintained cordiality with media houses, supervised constant leadership modules for the Youths and Women wing, special intervention against victimization of Nigerian in China during Covid-19 pandemic in conjunction with Senator Enyinnia Abaribe and Boss Mustapha. Special intervention through South African high Commission in Lagos on xynophobic attack on Nigerians in South Africa.”
“Indeed, my recognition by Ohanaeze National Headquarters is a true attestation to my commitment to everything good for our great Igbo nation in Lagos State and Ohanaeze worldwide. My desire to further deepen the reforms I conceived and nurtured, sparked my ambition in the last election in which I contested for Lagos State President position, which however, did not  materialise with no love lost.”
Chief Everest Ozonweke stated that he will continue to expose Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene so that the members of the public, especially the Igbo in Lagos State, will not fall into his deceit, blinded by his greed, unquenchable desire for power and lost of sense of good reasoning.
He urged everyone especially Ndigbo to ignore his rascality as a drowning man and Let Ndigbo continue to work and focus on the leadership reforms and repositioning of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide as being piloted by their esteemed President General, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyawu.
He promised to expose Chief Aguene’s evil ways as he has decided to expose him with records while he worked with him as the Ohanaeze Ndigbo General Secretary, Lagos State.
