Ohanaeze Election: Electoral Committee Presents Time Table For Elections

The general elections of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State for various positions in 2026 is gaining momentum following the presentation of the electoral time table by the Chairman of electoral committee, Chief Oliver Akubueze (Mmiri). 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the electoral committee Chairman, Dr Akubueze had earlier stated his commitment to conduct free and fair elections that will bring lasting peace to Ohanaeze Ndigbo after the constitution of the electoral committee by the president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Solomon Aguene.

 

Thus, the electoral committee in line with their determination, has concluded plans to start preparations for the conduct of the election that will cut across the Local Councils in the State.

 

According to the Committee Chairman,  Akubueze, the committee will start preparations and meetings on 6th February, 2026, then election of LGA/LCDAs will start on 7th March, 2026, while the election of State Excos will be on April 14th and 15th and finally presidential and State elections will follow subsequently.

 

Chief Oliver Akubueze has demonstrated commitment to restoring peace to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State and has insisted that he will conduct the election despite the pressure on him not to do so.

 

The electoral committee has since commenced consultations and working to conduct free and fair elections and this has culminated to the presentation of the electoral time timetable as interested aspirants have already started indicating interest in various positions in the Local Councis and State.
