KINGSLEY EBERE

It appears that Chief Sunday Ossai is in for more troubles for declaring self as the leader of Ohanaeze in Lagos State and organizing an illegal meeting despite the High Court judgement, which had confirmed Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene as the authentic president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Chief Ossai was granted administrative bail on self recognition and asked to come back by next week Tuesday to further explain why he should disregard the valid Court judgment that declared Chief Aguene as President of Ohanaeze, Lagos State.

Chief Ossai was said to have goofed and told the Police at Force Headquarters Annex at Alagbon that he was duly elected as president of the chapter despite the fact that there was a valid Court judgment that recognized Aguene as President.

The Police operatives were said to have been surprised that Chief Ossai admitted that he disregarded the Court judgment and went ahead to conduct an election where he was declared as President with Mr. Robert Obasi as General Secretary alongside others.

He was said to have written so in his statement to the Police which may likely land him in prison if there is no settlement and he is charged before Court for his alleged conduct.

The President of Ohanaeze, Chief Solomon Aguene wrote a petition to the Police over Chief Ossai and his group’s conduct for organizing an illegal meeting  scheduled to hold on 1st March, 2025.

Following the presence of the Police who went to the meeting venue to invite Chief Ossai and Eze Chris Offia and others for organizing illegal meeting, Chief Ossai later suspended the meeting and announced that the Police invited them to Alagbon over their conduct.

On Monday, Chief Ossai and Eze Offiah including other members of their rebel group, went to the Force Headquarters annex and were interrogated by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Ime Udofia, who further fixed another date for more investigations.

During the interrogation, Eze Offia, Chief Ossai, Chief Robert Obasi, Chief Everest Ozonweke, Prince Ubochi C. Ubochi, the Traditional Prime Minister of Amaifeke in Imo State were said to have told the Police that Chief Solomon Aguene’s tenure had expired and that Ossai was the duly elected president of Ohanaeze in Lagos State.

However, when they discovered that the Chairmen of Ohanaeze Ndigbo from the various LCDAs across the State led by Chief Aguene came with the valid Court judgment of the Lagos State High Court, they became jittery.

At that point, Eze Offiah, while speaking stated that all he wanted was for peace to reign in the organization knowing the implications of their earlier claims that Chief Ossai was duly elected and remains the legitimate president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State.

But they were unable to respond over the valid Court judgment which declared Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene as the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State. This may have nullified their claims that Chief Sunday Ossai was duly elected as President of Ohanaeze.
