Ojodu Celebrates 2023 Children’s Day In Style

The Nigerian Institute of Journalism Complex, Ogba area of Lagos, was abuzz with excitement as the Ojodu Local Council Development Area yesterday hosted a remarkable Children’s Day celebration.
The event, organized by the LCDA under the esteemed leadership of Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, served as a platform to honour and empower the future leaders of our society while highlighting the critical importance of education.
Mrs. Abimbola Odunmbaku, wife of the Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, delivered an inspiring speech that emphasized the significance of providing children with access to quality education. Addressing the enthusiastic crowd of parents, teachers, and esteemed guests, she expressed her deep gratitude for their dedication to improving the lives of children.
“Today, we gather here with utmost honour and delight to celebrate the young minds that hold the key to our nation’s future. It is on this special occasion of Children’s Day that we acknowledge the tremendous importance of education in shaping the lives of our children and paving the way for their success” she said.
During her address, Mrs. Odunmbaku commended the efforts of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, in prioritizing the healthy and excellent education of the youth.
She highlighted the administration’s notable achievements, including the distribution of Back-to-School items to Primary Schools, the provision of GCE and JAMB forms to students, and the installation of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities in all Primary Schools within the LCDA.
“Our Executive Chairman’s commitment to the education and empowerment of our youth is truly commendable. Through these initiatives, we are making significant strides in ensuring that our children receive the education they need to become future leaders.”
The Children’s Day celebration was marked by vibrant parades, engaging games, and a festive atmosphere, which brought smiles to the faces of the young participants. Parents and teachers joined in the festivities, reaffirming their dedication to nurturing the potential of every child and providing them with a nurturing environment.
In her concluding remarks, Mrs. Odunmbaku urged the community to continue to advocate for greater access to quality education for all children. She emphasized the need to inspire children to aim high, work hard, and remain optimistic about the possibilities that lie ahead.
As the event came to a close, parents and guests expressed their appreciation for the LCDA’s efforts in prioritizing education and empowering the future leaders of Ojodu. The celebration served as a powerful reminder of the transformative role education plays in shaping the lives of children and the collective future of our society.
With the dedication of leaders like Mrs. Abimbola Odunmbaku and Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, the Ojodu LCDA continues to strive towards a brighter and more prosperous future for the children within its jurisdiction. Their commitment to education ensures that the young minds of Ojodu are equipped with the necessary tools and opportunities to excel and contribute meaningfully to society.
As a means of encouragement, prizes and gifts were given to winners in various categories such as Match Past, Choreographer, Cultural Dance etc.
Likewise, the Health Educator of Ojodu LCDA, Mrs. Muhammed, gave an insightful talk regarding personal hygiene as she enlightened the student on how to take adequate care of their bodies in order to remain sound, medically and intellectually.
As Children’s Day celebrations continue nationwide, communities are encouraged to follow the example set by Ojodu LCDA and prioritize the education and well-being of their children. By investing in the future leaders of our society, we pave the way for a brighter and more promising tomorrow.
Also present at the event were Apex Women Leaders, APC Ojodu Women Leader, Headteachers, teachers, Executive Committee members, UBA Ojodu team, students from Junior Grammar Schools and Primary Schools in Ojodu LCDA.
