The Executive Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area, Hon. Olusegun David Odunmbaku, has pledged his support to the welfare, security and empowerment of the market women and men in the Council.
He made this known at a meeting held on Tuesday with the market/artisans women and men in various markets within the LCDA.
He said “The administration is committed to uplifting the market people as succor to the devastating effects of COVID-19. This will ensure that the economy and livelihood of our people bounce back to normal”.
Hon. Odunmbaku expressed that the contributions of the market women and men to the growth and development of our communities cannot be overemphasized; while stating the Council’s commitment on inaugurating the new market revenue collection committee and encouraged the markets leaders to ignore unauthorized persons pending the official inauguration of the said committee.
The Iyaloja General of Ojodu LCDA, Chief Mrs. Folashade Salako, appreciated the efforts of the Chairman for deeming it fit to meet with the market men and women, which shows the Chairman’s love for them.
Also in attendance at the meeting are the Vice-Chairman, Hon. Bunmi Oluyadi, Hon Councillors, Chief of Staff, Mr. Bode Olaniyan, Head of Administration, Engr. Dele Abayomi, Iyaloja Ogba Retail Market (Multipurpose) Alhaja Abebi Kasumu, Iyaloja Yakoyo Market Mrs. Lafiat Lawal and representatives from all markets in the LCDA and other stakeholders
