Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State on Thursday celebrated the graduation of 250 beneficiaries from its Mega Vocational Skills Training Programme.
This initiative, spearheaded by the Council’s Executive Chairman, Hon. David Olusegun Odunmbaku, aimed to empower residents by equipping them with practical skills in various trades such as makeup, gele tying, soap making, and tie-dye production.
The programme, which lasted three months, was designed to provide participants with the necessary tools to either start their own businesses or secure employment, thereby fostering economic growth and reducing poverty within the community.
During the graduation ceremony, Odunmbaku represented by the Vice Chairman, Olubunmi Oluyadi, highlighted the importance of such training in improving the livelihoods of residents and promoting social cohesion.
Chairperson of Ojodu LCDA, Mrs. Abimbola Odunmbaku represented by Yeye Funke Akinwale and Chairperson of Ojodu LCDA APC, Alhaja Stella Kokumo, said the successful implementation of the vocational training underscores the Olusegun Odunmbaku administration’s commitment to community development and poverty alleviation through skill acquisition and empowerment initiatives.
Also at the event were the SLG, Hon Olaide John Bello, Supervisor For WAPA, Hon Folake Adams, HOD WAPA, Mrs Oluwa, Party Chieftains and Management Team.
