Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, today held the 21st Edition of the Annual Spelling Bee Competition at the Council Secretariat, Oke-Ira.
The event, proudly organized for pupils and students across the LCDA, was hosted by Mrs. Abimbola Odunmbaku, wife of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, with the Vice Chairman, Hon. Kafaya Layeni, in attendance to encourage the young participants.
Mrs. Abimbola Odunmbaku, in her speech, said the competition was originally initiated by Senator Oluremi Tinubu when she was First Lady of Lagos to boost academic excellence, literacy and self-confidence for better performance among learners in schools.
In the junior category, Adeoluwatoyin Awosanmi (Ojodu Primary School 3) emerged winner, while Akpakpan Mercy (Ojodu Primary School 2) and Ijov Martha (Ogba Primary School) were runners-up.
The senior category was won by Abe Solomon (Babs Fafunwa Millennium School), with Zakariya Sofiat (Omole Senior Grammar School) and Kalu Chidera Blessing (Babs Fafunwa Millennium School) as runners-up.
