In a proactive measure to mitigate flooding and enhance environmental sustainability, Ojodu LCDA has embarked on a significant desilting exercise at Kashumu Aleshinloye Street, Agidingbi to clear drainage systems and ensure the smooth flow of stormwater, thereby preventing waterlogging and related health hazards during the rainy season.
The desilting operation targets the removal of accumulated silt, debris, and refuse obstructing water flow by with a dedicated team of environmental workers deployed to ensure thorough and efficient execution.
Supervisor For Environment, Hon Olawale AbdulSalam, expressed the council’s dedication to environmental sustainability and public health.
“Our goal is to create a safer, cleaner, and more habitable environment for our residents. This desilting exercise is part of our broader strategy to enhance the infrastructure and living conditions in Ojodu LCDA” he said.
Residents are urged to support this initiative by ensuring proper waste disposal and reporting any drainage issues to the Ojodu LCDA. Community collaboration is essential for the success of this exercise and for maintaining a sustainable environment.
