Ojodu LCDA Leads Digital Revolution: Odunmbaku Empowers 150 Youths, Rewards Excellence with Laptops

The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, has once again demonstrated visionary leadership with the successful hosting of a landmark Digital Skills Graduation and Empowerment Ceremony held on Thursday, 23rd April, 2026, at the Council Secretariat.


The event, which celebrated the graduation of 150 participants from an intensive and forward-thinking digital training programme, was widely applauded as a bold and strategic investment in human capital development.

Participants received hands-on training across critical areas including Digital Literacy, Social Media and Digital Marketing, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity Awareness, Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence through hybrid learning approach adopted for flexibility and practical exposure, equipping graduands with industry-relevant competencies.

In his inspiring address, Hon. Odunmbaku commended the resilience and dedication of the participants, emphasizing that the initiative represents a shift from basic ICT knowledge to advanced, specialized and monetizable digital skills. He further highlighted the Council’s sustained interventions in technology-driven education, including thousands of pupils trained and the upgrade of the Sogunro ICT Centre into a modern hub.

In a remarkable show of support, five outstanding graduands were presented with laptops, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to empowerment through tools and opportunity. Stakeholders and dignitaries unanimously praised the Chairman’s foresight, describing the initiative as impactful, inclusive, and a model forJ grassroots digital transformation.

The ceremony which had in attendance the Vice Chairman Hon. Funmilayo Layeni, SLG, Hon. Abdulsalam, the Leader of the House, Hon. Opeyemi Apatira with councilors and supervisory councilors, traditional rulers, community and party leaders concluded on a celebratory note, with renewed optimism for a digitally empowered Ojodu LCDA.
