In a strategic partnership aimed at supporting education and easing the financial burden on parents, Ojodu Local Council Development Area, under the leadership of Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, has joined forces with the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) to distribute 250 school bags, along with exercise books, to pupils of Ojodu Primary School 1.
At the distribution event, Hon. Odunmbaku emphasized the critical role education plays in shaping the future, reiterating his administration’s commitment to improving learning conditions. He highlighted several initiatives, including the transformation of the ICT center into an Info-Tech Hub, the distribution of 1,500 revision textbooks to final-year pupils, and scholarships and bursaries worth ₦2.5 million awarded to indigent students.
Furthermore, he highlighted the distribution of 700 GCE forms and 900 JAMB forms, which were distributed to students with coaching sessions held at the ICT Hub to enhance their Computer-Based Testing (CBT) skills. To incentivize excellence among educators, a ₦3 million cash reward was given to outstanding teachers.
The Managing Director of LASAA, Mr. Fatiu Akiolu, praised the initiative, noting its dual impact on addressing social challenges and promoting environmental sustainability, as the school bags were made from recycled materials. Founder of Omodaada Foundation, Mr. Niyi Dada, coordinated the project and pledged continued support for similar interventions in the future.
