In the early hours of Saturday 22nd October, 2022, Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, played host to the Rotary Club of Ojodu following a sensitization walk to commemorate Year 2022 World Polio Day.
The walk, which started at FRSC Office, Ogunnusi Road, Ojodu, was terminated at Ojodu LCDA Secretariat, Powerline Oke-ira, and had several notable members of the Rotary Club, Council officials and community members in attendance.
The awareness for polio vaccination was raised in preparation for the annual celebration of World Polio Day, which is usually marked on 24th October.
According to the President of Rotary Club of Ojodu, Rotarian Edwin Okon, all hands must be on deck to sustain the victory over polio.
“Even though the country is free of polio, we still need to create awareness and ensure that both government and private entities work towards sustaining the fight against the deadly impacts of polio”, Edwin remarked.
The Medical Officer of Health Ojodu LCDA, Dr. Anne Okonma, further buttressed on the essence and attendant benefits of polio vaccination.
