The Day 11 edition of Ikeja APC Walk-Through Rally held in Ojodu LCDA Ward D at Powerline, Oke-Ira, Ogba, yesterday 25th January, ended on a very brilliant note as the programme metamorphosed into a colourful birthday celebration in honour of the highly respected Chair of Chair; *Alhaji Adekunle Dally-Adeokun,* who turned a year older.
The rally started from Muyibi Street as scores of enthusiastic party men and women moved through Irebawa, Osayemi, Ondo, Ayo Alabi and other adjoining streets, campaigning for APC Candidates and sensitizing the people on the need to collect their PVCs and vote massively for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Gov. Sanwo-Olu, Dr. Idiat Adebule (Senate/Lagos West), Rt. Hon. Abiodun Faleke (Ikeja Federal/House of Reps), Hon. Seyi Lawal and Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu for Lagos State House of Assembly, Ikeja Constituency 1 and 2 respectively.
After a successful street-to-street engagement, the calvacade finally converged in front of Febsat Hotel, opposite Ojodu LCDA Council Secretariat on Powerline Oke-Ira.
The mood and mode of the rally changed dramatically at the converging point when a colourful birthday cake in honour of Alhaji Adekunle Dally-Adeokun arrived at the venue.
The cake, which was themed in APC colours, was facilitated by *Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu (ARK)* to celebrate a man he described as a “selfless leader and strategic thinker”.
Hon. ARK thereafter took charge of the proceedings as he led the gathering in serenading the celebrant with various birthday songs.
Palpable excitement enveloped the arena as eminent leaders joined the Maiyegun to cut his cake.The cake-cutting session was skilfully coordinated by Hon. Kasunmu, who humorously turned himself to a “General Office Commanding” to the amusement of many.
In his response, the celebrant thanked all leaders, party members and constituents present, for the surprise honour, especially Hon. Kasunmu, who escalated the celebration.
The Party Chairman commended everyone for a job well done so far on the historic rally from day 1 to Day 11 and urged everyone to put in more efforts to ensure the success of the remaining rallies and the election itself.
Earlier in her address, the Chaiman of Ojodu LCDA APC, *Alhaja Olusola Kokumo, * appreciated all party leaders, members and stakeholders for their commitment and also prayed for resounding successes in the coming elections. She also thanked the leaders and people of Ojodu Ward D for being wonderful hosts.
Other party leaders present at the rally included, Alhaja Bukky Ogun, Chief Oludele Sonola, Barr. Adebola Ladigbolu, Alhaja Iyabo Akerele, Hon. Bunmi Oluyadi, Comrade Gbemi Ololade, Hon. Yomi Balogun, Comrade Ajakaiye, Alhaja Funmi Layeni, Olori Lola Bashorun, Alhaji Ambali, Hon.Mrs Olusanya, Mallam Moyo Jaji, Comrade Akeem Dauda, Barr. Olawale Ajala, Alhaja Bukky Gbadamosi, Hon. MKO Akindele, Chief Ajaguna, Alhaji Onifade, Comrade Gabriel Jolaosho, Hon. Jemila Badru, Hon. Bola Lawal, Comrade Mayor Adedigba, Hon. Gbenga Opebi, Hon. Akinade and a host of other VIPs.
The event was smoothly co-anchored by the trio of *Comrade Luqman Apampa, Alhaji Lanre Remonic and Comrade Lanre Fatuyi* and they did very well.
It was indeed a colourful day for Ojodu Ward D and our able leader, Maiyegun Adekunle Dally-Adeokun. The rally continues in Onigbongbo on Monday.
