While joining the rest of the world to mark World Clean Up Day, the Oju Eko Initiative is complementing the efforts of the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources in their bid to ensure a clean and attractive Lagos State.
With the health and hygiene of residents in mind, in this year’s edition, the Oju Eko Initiative is focused on tackling fashion waste.
The exercise is slated to take place on Saturday, 20th September, 2025, by 7am.
The Oju Eko Initiative hopes to lead Lagosians in celebrating World Cleanup Day. To that effect, the group is mobilizing residents for a massive cleanliness drive, which will commence from Ogba Bus Stop to Sunday Market, covering the Ogba Motor Park down to Sunday Market.
World Cleanup Day is a global initiative, where citizens come together to eliminate waste and trash. It is not just about cleaning up; it is about rethinking the approach to waste management.
The group enjoins residents to join the initiative in meaningful action in Lagos by tackling fashion waste, making a difference and proving that real change starts with the people.
Oju Eko Initiative hopes to educate and inspire people for a sustainable future.
