Okoku’s Foundation Partners Deloitte For New Hope For Kids

Former Super Eagles of Nigeria star, Paul Okoku has continued to forge new and strong partnership with top international companies in his quest to create a better and brighter future for less-privileged kids through his Greater Tomorrow Children Foundation charity-based, USA IRS tax exempt approved 501(c)(3) organisation.

In his latest drive to bridge the gap between the rich and the needy ones,the Greater Tomorrow Children Foundation, which the United States of America-based Okoku founded and launched with pomp and colour in Abuja some years ago, has teamed up with frontline American consulting firm, Deloitte in the area of caring for children in The Center for Grieving Children and Wish for Kids in USA.

The Greater Tomorrow Children Foundation recently conducted a community service event that was sponsored by Deloitte Consulting LLP to help a local Orlando charity, New Hope for Kids, clean their facilities and throw a much-deserved ice cream party for the younger members of the local community. 

New Hope achieves its mission through two programs – The Center for Grieving Children and Wish for Kids – which provide assistance to children and their families during some of life’s most difficult challenges. 

New Hope for Kids consistently does profound work in aiding children through the grieving process after losing their loved ones and to grant wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses in Central Florida.

They accomplish this by surrounding them with peers who share similar circumstances and they help alleviate the pain through constant sources of positive energy. 

Through the years, Deloitte has sponsored many events such as this during the Nation wide Impact day. This particular event with Greater Tomorrow ran concurrently with the many other charity events that were sponsored by Deloitte as part of their annual Impact Day. Over 60 volunteers from Greater Tomorrow, Deloitte and New Hope for Kids were involved in the event. To commence the event, each organization began by sharing brief introductions and overviews of their respective organizations and the purpose for reaching out to do this amazing work for the Orlando community.

‘After all the speakers presented, everyone split up into multiple groups, each assigned a specific task. The tasks included gardening, cleaning the facility, and prepping for the ice cream social. Later in the day, the families and children who consistently reap the benefits of the much-needed care New Hope for Kids provides, arrived to enjoy the perfect solution to a hot summers’ day, ice cream.

The entire facility was illuminated by the massive accumulation of smiles, joy, and laughter. The happiness alone from the kids’ faces reaffirmed why organizations such as Greater Tomorrow, Deloitte, and New Hope play such an integral part of community empowerment. 

Speaking on the partnership with Deloitte, 1984 AFCON silver-medal winner, Paul Okoku said he was glad that GTCF was able to impact the lives of children in the orphanage home, adding that it was the start of new collaborations with top companies in the world.

”With our help, we can expect many more collaborations with community organizations such as this in the future. Greater Tomorrow, Deloitte, and New Hope have set the standard of what positive contributions to a community should look like. It’s our duty to follow in their footsteps. Recall that earlier this year, Greater Tomorrow Children’s Fund, donated 20,000 textbooks to 40 schools in Delta State, in another successful collaboration with a member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Nicholas Ossai. From Delta State.
