The leadership of the Orashi National Congress, ONC, after much assessment of the current political crisis rocking the Rivers State House of Assembly and their dear State, has expressed their displeasure while condemning in its entirety the continued harassment after the attempted assassination on the life of their son, brother, comrade and leader, Rt. Hon. Barr. Edison Ehie, the duly elected Speaker of the 10th RSHA.
In a statement signed by its President General, Most Snr. Comrade Emeni Ibe, the ONC said, “We condemn this act of political rascality and buccaneering by those who feel they will continue to further their greedy grips on the State’s treasury by this barbaric act”.
“Going forward:
(1) We call on the IGP and CP of Rivers State Command to investigate and bring the perpetrators of this devilish act to book.
(2) The IGP and CP of Rivers State Police Command should provide adequate security forthwith to safeguard the life and property of the Speaker of RSHA, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie and his family as we will no longer fold our arms and watch the continued onslaught on our own. We shall resist by everything within our reach any further attempt on the life of our son, brother, comrade and leader.
(3) The unnecessary distraction by some folks wanting to further loot our common wealth through the back door shall no longer be tolerated most especially in the LGAs.
(4) Furthermore , we call on all Orashi sons and  daughters, especially in State House of Assembly including all well-meaning Rivers people to pitch tent with the Executive Governor of Rivers State, H.E. Sir Siminalayi Fubara, The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, H E Prof Mrs. Ngozi Odu and Rt. Hon Edison Ehie, the newly elected Speaker RSHA, on the quest to liberate our dear State from the hands of political slave masters.
(5) We therefore, warn these detractors  to know that no one has monopoly of violence, as Orashi people shall no longer fold their arms again against any act of harassment, intimidation nor attempt on the life of our son, brother, and leader.”
