ONC Passes Vote Of Confidence On Gov. Fubara, Congratulates Him On Legacy Projects

The Orashi National Congress (ONC) Worldwide has passed a vote of confidence on the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, over what it described as his unprecedented achievements as he approaches the final months of his tenure.

In a statement signed by its President General, Amb. Comr. Emeni Ibe, JP, AP, the ONC said it reviewed the performance of the governor and was compelled to pass a resounding vote of confidence on his administration.

“In the face of unprecedented political turbulence and distractions, Governor Fubara has remained focused, calm, and development-driven. His achievements speak louder than any political propaganda,” the group said.

According to the ONC, Governor Fubara will be leaving behind a legacy of concrete, verifiable projects across all three senatorial districts of the state.

*Road And Infrastructural Revolution*

The group listed 28 major projects, noting that history will remember Governor Fubara for reconnecting Rivers State through roads abandoned for decades by previous administrations.

The projects include the Aleto–Eteo–Ebubu Road, 33.5km Elele–Egbeda–Omoku Dual Carriageway, Port Harcourt Ring Road and Flyovers, Trans-Kalabari Road, Buguma–Tema–Degema–Abonnema Road, Omoku–Egbema Road, Ngo–Oyorokoto Atlantic Beach Road in Andoni, Opobo Ring Road, Okania–Ogbogoro Road, Emohua–Ogbakiri Dual Carriageway, and the Emoh–Iyak–Ighom–Elok Roads in Abua/Odual LGA, among others.

“These are not audio projects; they are legacy roads opening up Orashi, Kalabari, Ogoni, Andoni, Opobo, Ikwerre and all corners of the state,” the ONC said.

*Health And Education*

In the health sector, the group highlighted the construction of a new Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital and General Hospitals in Rumuigbo, Bori and Ahoada, Omoku Zonal Hospital, rehabilitation of health centres across the 23 LGAs, employment of doctors and primary healthcare workers, and extension of retirement age for Community Health Workers from 60 to 65 years.

In education, it listed the upgrade of Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, construction of hostels and administrative block, rehabilitation of Bonny National Grammar School and Okrika Grammar School, and the Model Secondary School in Ataba, alongside massive employment of teachers.

*Workers’ Welfare And Economic Empowerment*

The ONC described Governor Fubara as a true Labour-friendly Governor, citing the payment of promotion arrears, implementation of ₦85,000 minimum wage for civil servants, one of the highest in Nigeria, and construction of Permanent Secretaries’ Quarters in Elimgbu.

Others include a ₦4 billion soft loan for SMEs and ₦1 billion recapitalisation fund, employment of children of fallen heroes, Greater TAF City 20,000 low-cost housing initiative, and renovation of the State Secretariat Complex.

*Security And Strategic Interventions*

On security, the group commended the governor’s interventions, including donation of a helicopter to the Nigerian Air Force, 12 Hilux vehicles to NSCDC, 100 vehicles to Nigeria Police, 6 gunboats to the Nigerian Navy, construction of residential quarters for Air Force and Navy personnel, rehabilitation of fire service stations in Rumuodumaya, Mile One and Borikiri, and construction of Judges’ Quarters and Government House Staff Quarters.

“These are not mere promises; they are completed and ongoing legacies that have touched lives directly,” the ONC said.

The group, therefore, on behalf of the entire Orashi people in Rivers State and in the diaspora, passed a vote of absolute confidence on Governor Fubara and congratulated him for proving that despite political storms, governance can still thrive.

“Governor Fubara will be leaving office in less than six months as a Governor who built roads, built hospitals, built schools, empowered workers, secured lives, and left Rivers State better than he met it. History will be kind to him,” it added.

The ONC urged Rivers people to continue to support his administration till the last day, to protect the legacies.
