Respected Socio-Cultural group, Orashi National Congress, ONC, led by its President General, Snr Comrade Amb Emeni Ibe, has paid a courtesy/solidarity visit to His Royal Majesty Eze Victor Egbo Elenwa, Eze Egi III (Eze Ogba-Ukwu).
According to the ONC, the visit was in appreciation of the monarch’s faithful discharge of his duties towards the promotion of security, healthy cohesion and peaceful coexistence among the people of Egi, especially for providing even development in all communities after the Rivers State High Court delivered a landmark judgement and proclaimed him as the rightful occupant of the respected traditional stool and resolved the traditional chieftaincy litigation that has lasted for many years.
While speaking during the visit, the ONC President General, Snr Comrade Emeni Ibe said, “The Orashi National Congress National Congress hereby appeal to His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, to grant HRM Eze Victor Egbo Elenwa, Eze Egi III (Eze Ogba-Ukwu) the staff of office and accord him every necessary recognition to enable him to contribute his quota towards ensuring peace and security in Egi Kingdom and thereby assisting the State Government”.
“We also pledge our cooperation and total support to HRM Eze Victor Egbo Elenwa, Eze Egi III (Eze Ogba-Ukwu). We are here to commend him for the development strides he has attracted to the Egi Kingdom and his blueprint for development shows a serious custodian of culture and tradition, who is prepared to offer effective leadership. And so, His Royal Majesty deserves total support from all and sundry to succeed on the throne.”
The Orashi National Congress used the opportunity the visit afforded to applaud the monarch for providing leadership since the legal resolution of litigations on the traditional stool. The group lauded the plan by the monarch to hand over Egi Kingdom to God by proclaiming Egi Thanksgiving Day.
The ONC equally charged HRM Eze Victor Egbo Elenwa, Eze Egi III (Eze Ogba-Ukwu) to look into and ensure abolition of indiscriminate and unwarranted removal of community paramount rulers without recourse to the Egi Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs as headed by the Eze Egi in Council.
