ONC PG Congratulates New INC Leader, Commends Gov. Diri For Peace Role

The President General of the Orashi National Congress, ONC, Amb. Comrade Emeni Ibe, JP, AP, has warmly congratulated the newly elected President General of the Ijaw National Congress, INC, High Chief (Barr.) MacDonald Ebi Igbadiwei, on his emergence.

 

In a congratulatory message, Amb. Ibe described the new INC leadership as coming at a critical time for the Ijaw nation and the wider Niger Delta, and urged a focus on reconciliation, unity and purposeful leadership.

 

Amb. Ibe, speaking on behalf of the leadership and entire members of ONC, also appreciated the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, for what he called a “fatherly role” in ensuring that peace returned to the Ijaw National Congress.

“I wish to, on behalf of the leadership and entire members of the Orashi National Congress ONC, highly appreciate the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, for his fatherly role and ensuring that peace returned to the Ijaw National Congress,” he said.

The ONC President General joined other well-meaning individuals and leaders across the region to congratulate High Chief Igbadiwei as he begins his tenure and takes up responsibility of leading the Congress from Ijaw House, Yenagoa.

“This is a time for reconciliation, unity and purposeful leadership. He is expected to bring all stakeholders on board and move the Congress forward,” Amb. Ibe stated.

He expressed confidence that the new INC President General, with his experience and pedigree, will provide the needed direction to strengthen the apex Ijaw socio-cultural body and advance the collective interests of Ijaw people at home and in the diaspora.

Amb. Ibe reaffirmed ONC’s commitment to working with the INC and other Niger Delta stakeholders to promote peace, development and justice in the region.

 

The Orashi National Congress, which represents Orashi-speaking communities across Rivers and Bayelsa States, pledged its support to the new INC leadership as it works to consolidate unity within the Ijaw nation and deepen collaboration with other ethnic nationalities in the Niger Delta.
