ONC PG Thanks Gov. Fubara For Providing Palliatives To Orashi Flood Victims

The President General of Orashi National Congress, ONC, Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe (AP JP), has thanked the State  Government for the palliatives given to flood victims from the Rivers State Flood Prevention and Management Committee, led by the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Professor Ngozi Nma Odu, at   some of the IDP Camps in Orashi region.
The Leadership of the Orashi National Congress appreciated the Rivers State Government for the relief materials provided so far in the four LGAs and assured that they will be put to proper and effective use in order to ease the suffering of residents affected by severe flooding in the region.
The ONC President General expressed the profound gratitude of the Orashi people to the Rivers State Flood Prevention and Management Committee, for living up to expectations in delivering  some relief supplies to flood-displaced persons in the four LGAs of Orashi region.
Amb Comrade Ibe thanked the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, for his empathy and kindness and expressed appreciation to the Committee, led by Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, for the timely support.
The leadership of the Orashi National Congress also appreciated the Deputy Governor for her proactive efforts in ensuring that the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state and Orashi region were cared for.
The ONC PG said, “We thank the  Governor for his directive for establishment of the Flood Prevention and Management Committee in response to forecasts identifying 18 Local Government areas as flood-prone, not excluding the four LGAs of Orashi region”.
“We acknowledge the mission of government to identify with our displaced people from their homes, and currently residing in IDP camps, and provide support through food, medical supplies, and other essential relief materials.”
“Our people are happy that the members of the Committee are conducting regular visits to monitor the needs and intervene when necessary, urging camp residents to maintain harmony and cooperation during their stay.”
Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe appreciated the Government for its timely response and pleaded with the Government to find a lasting solution to the flood-related issues as the flood has often dealt with the people of Orashi region mostly
and appealed to the Committee for continued support with frequent visits to the IDP camps, especially during the post-flood recovery phase, to ensure ongoing assistance and rebuilding efforts.
