FRANCIS ACHI/ Abuja

Facts have continued to emerge while the crisis in Nigerian Football (NFF) will linger on for some time.

PM EXPRESS exclusively gathered from one of the NFF board members that President of the NFF allegedly short-changed some people during the recently held Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Otunba Sunday Dele Ajayi, chairman of Ondo State Football Association, one of the members of the board of NFF under Amaju Pinnick, who is also a board member under Chris Giwa’s faction said that Pinnick gave him paltry sum of $3,000 as estacode at the World Cup.

Otunba Ajayi, who is the chairman of Audit Committee of the NFF under the leadership of Pinnick lamented the ill treated melted to him by the Delta -born football administrator , as he revealed that he was sidelined and rendered redundant, and everything got to a crescendo during the just concluded Russia 2018 World Cup where Pinnick approved the sum of paltry  $ 3,000.00 to be given to him as estacodes as a board member, which was not what he and other board members were expecting as their  entitlements at the football mundial.

“I don’t really want to go into what happened in Russia. It was very terrible. Pinnick gave me $3,000.00 as my estacodes in Russia. Other board members also complained, but I can only talk of myself. I spent money from my credit card to feed some people in Russia. I know what I went through for four years under Pinnick as NFF President. I was sidelined and maltreated,” Otunba Ajayi said.

“At my age at 60 plus, let them keep on saying what they like, that I joined Giwa’s board. They don’t know that it is good that I am also a part of NFF board under Chris Giwa. I just want the football family to be united and I will keep on working towards that and I hope that this crisis will end peacefully and everyone will be happy for our football,” he added.

“I am following my mind in this cause without apology to anybody. I am blessed with two big petrol stations that can sustain me  and I also have a job I do in America, so I have business ventures to fall back on.

“I love football, but my life and business do not only revolve round football. I don’t owe any man apology with my decision.

“I no go gree make my brother dey hungry make I no talk la la la la la”, Otunba Ayayi said in a short song.

Otunba Ajayi appears to be very relevant in Giwa’s board. He read the communiqué to the press at the end of their board meeting in Abuja last week. He was the head of delegation to Mauritania when the Flying Eagles were forced to 1-1 draw by the Under 20 national team of Mauritania and he was also very active during the return leg at the Agege stadium, Lagos where the Flying Eagles mauled Mauritania 5-0 to qualify on 6-1 aggregate to the Africa Youth Championship to be hosted by Niger Republic next year.
