Former Lagos State House of Assembly member, Hon. Adelabu Onibiyo popularly known as Mr. Integrity has described the governor of State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as a man with sly personality that cannot be trusted.
Mr. Integrity stated this in a recent interview he granted the Community News Network based in Alimosho Local government in Lagos State.
The two-term House of Assembly member said that Aregbesola had a way of outsmarting his political contemporaries, destroying them and they end up becoming rag tag people and hangers on after using them to achieve his ambition.
“Go and asked Aregbesola, where are his contemporaries and his colleagues from secondary schools and their conditions?”
Onibiyo claimed that Aregbesola became the Alimosho leader through his own making but later dumped him after he had achieved his aim and had turned Alimosho to his own village and no more Asiwaju Tinubu’s domain. He said that the governor manipulated his way to become who he is today and still had ambition to supplant and surpass Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Chief Obafemi Awolowo through his manipulations.
An embittered Onibiyo stated this on the heels of the rumoured ambition of Aregbesola to contest for senate when he finishes his second term as governor in Osun State. He said that he will be the number one person to face Aregbesola if he comes back to try anything in Lagos State politically and that he will meet his waterloo.
Onibiyo quipped that he was sure that Asiwaju has his own lamentation of Aregbesola because of his nature of trusting people but he may not say it out as an elderly leader.
He described Aregbesola as a man who had a pattern of eliminating people he was not comfortable with and cited Mrs. Kemi Nelson, Lanre Olatunde, and one Akinyemi who had assisted him and he dumped them politically.
He noted that he was paying for the consequences of what he had done, because even as governor everything about him was nosediving in Osun State. Onibiyo insisted that if he had performed there, ordinarily he will seek his senatorial ambition from Osun State.
On the crisis with APC in Alimosho, he said it was Aregbesola that was behind it because he was not satisfied as Osun State governor. He said he still planted leaders at Alimosho who he controlled from Osun State and had continued to use them to fight the governor of Lagos State.
