His Royal Majesty Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II has announced plans for an upcoming historical event tagged Otisese Carnival.
The maiden edition of the festival is set to hold from the 5 December to 7 December, 2016 at Otisese Ground, Ile-Ife in Osun State, Nigeria.
Otisese Carnival is aimed at celebrating the benignant reign of the Ooni, as well as promoting unity among the Yoruba race and showcasing the rich cultural background of Ile-Ife to attendees from different parts of the globe.
The three-day carnival will feature a slew of enthralling activities including Otisese Youth Cup tourney, Live Music Concert, cultural carnival parade, royal banquet and more.
The live music concert will feature performances from some of the industry’s finest like Olamide, Solidstar, fuji icon King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal and a host of others.
Speaking on Otisese Carnival, one of the organisers, Hakeem Mustapha Olatunji remarked; “There are surfeit of festivals held annually in the country, but believe me; Otisese is the first of its kind. The festival is not only geared towards promoting unity and prosperity among the Yoruba race but to also accentuate Nigeria’s rich and meritorious culture to the world. The festival will serve as an avenue to bring about peace and prosperity in Nigeria at large”.
Otisese Carnival will have some of the most prestigious dignitaries, personalities and socialites all over the world in attendance to celebrate the historical significance of Ile-Ife and the descendants of the revered deity; Oodua.
