Ooni Of Ife Joins Ejigbo Council Boss To Celebrate The Commissioning Of Ifoshi Road

The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo
LCDA, Hon. Monsurudeen Oloyede Bello, has successfully commissioned the newly reconstructed Ifoshi Road on Thursday 5th September 2024.

 

The event, which drew high-profile dignitaries from across Lagos State and beyond, was graced by His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, along with members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), commissioners of the Lagos State Government, and a host of prominent traditional rulers.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Monsuru expressed profound gratitude to the Lagos State Government for its unwavering support in enabling the completion of the project. He also stated that the construction of Ifoshi Road marks a new era in the development of Ejigbo, as the road serves as a major artery for commerce and transportation within the LCDA.

 

“Ifoshi Road had been neglected for 24 years, but under this administration, we made it a priority to bring it back to life.
This project is more than just a road; it is a pathway to growth, economic prosperity, and better quality of life for our people. I am deeply honored to have His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, as this gesture symbolises bond of good will to Lagos State and Ejigbo LCDA and beyond, other esteemed leaders present here today to witness this milestone in our journey towards progress,” Hon. Monsuru stated.

 

Also, the Council boss noted that the road’s rehabilitation would significantly reduce the daily traffic congestion experienced by commuters and ease the transportation of goods and services, especially in linking Ejigbo to neighboring communities.

Furthermore, His imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, in his keynote address, lauded the exemplary leadership of Hon. Monsuru and commended the Lagos State Government for giving financial autonomy to local governments in the state, which has given more room for a tailored development, ensuring that resources are deployed where they are most needed. The Ooni also emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between traditional institutions and local authorities to foster unity, peace, and sustainable development at the grassroots level.

“Hon. Bello’s dedication to the welfare of the people of Ejigbo is a model of leadership that inspires us all. Infrastructure projects like this are key to uplifting our communities, and I am pleased to witness this transformation,” the Ooni said.

The Council Manager Mr Olusegun Ajagunna while delivering the vote of thanks assured stakeholder and residents of the community of more dividends of democracy from the Executive chairman.

Ojon of Ejigbo & Ijan Kingdom, Oba Moroof Adisa Ojoola, Onishsha of Shasha Kindgom, Oba Nosiru Ogunronbi, Onikotun of Ikotun Land, Oba Azeez Asiwaju Gbadabiu, Orelope ilaka of Egbeda land, Oba. Abdul Hammed, Alaye of Orisunbare, Oba Raufu Alakun Adebowale, ijo Oduala of Akesan Land,Oba Nojimudeen Abere and other traditional rulers ,Executive committee of Ejigbo LCDA, Legislators, Management and entire staff of Ejigbo LCDA,Stakeholders and residents of Ejigbo Community amongst others .
