Queen Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi, the wife of His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ọjájá II) CFR, was a guest of Gambia First Family for the launch of Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow Foundation (FaBB) in Banjul at the weekend.

The Queen, Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi, was at the launch to represent her husband, the Ooni of Ife, who was invited by the President of Gambia, His Excellency, Adamu Barrow, and his wife, Madam Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow for the launch of FaBB.

Apart from attending the launch of FaBB, the Queen used the opportunity of her visit to Gambia to meet and deliver a goodwill message of Ooni of Ife to the Yoruba community in that country. The people were elated to receive the wife of the most revered monarch of the Yoruba race.

“I’m deeply honoured to have been invited by His Excellency, Adamu Barrow, and First Lady of Gambia, Madam Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow, to attend the launch of the Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow Foundation (FaBB) in Banjul,” said Queen Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi after her return to Nigeria.

“I’m also glad to meet with the Chief launcher, Muhammed Indimi, OFR who added glamour to the event with his presence. His philanthropic nature is a testament to the great contributions he makes to society and for his support in keeping hopes alive worldwide.

This special program aims to strengthen the bonds between our nations and work together to keep hopes alive.

“During my visit, I connected with our vibrant Yoruba community in Gambia, emphasizing the importance of unity and harmony between our nations. The warm reception by the Yoruba descendants in The Gambia, who presented me with an award and thoughtful gifts, was truly heartwarming.

“I encouraged them to continue their remarkable work, fostering unity and progress among our people.

“I preached on the significance of strengthening the bonds between Yorubas in Gambia and their kinsmen back home. I also encouraged them to walk in the footsteps of the father of the Yoruba Nation worldwide; His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, the Ooni of Ife, who is a passionate pan-Africanist. Let us continue to build bridges, promote peace and understanding among our people, and celebrate our shared heritage. May our cultural exchange and cooperation bring prosperity and progress to both nations.

“I am deeply inspired by President Adamu Barrow’s exceptional leadership style, which embodies love, peace, and harmony in his governance of The Gambia Nation. The humility and compassion displayed by the First Lady, Madam Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow, is truly astonishing and worthy of emulation,” the Queen said.
