The Police authorities have given details on how six members of the notorious Aiye Confraternity belonging to wanted leader popularly known as Obama were arrested during intensive operation that lasted for several days in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports as disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana.
He said that on 9th November, 2019, at about 2015hrs, operatives of ‘Operation Crush’ arrested one Fatai Nofui “a.k.a” Itape ‘m’ of No. 12 Ago Owu Street Bariga, 28, and one Qudus Kazeem “a.k.a” Bobo ‘m’ of No. 14 Tape Street Bariga.
“The suspects were arrested at Ebute Bariga following sustained monitoring. They are members of Aiye Confraternity with allegiance to one Mohammed alias “Obama” as their leader in Bariga.”
DSP Elkana revealed that the gang was responsible for series violent attacks, armed robbery and murder in Bariga and environs.
They were on Police wanted list for the murder of one “Fashola” on 3rd November, 2019, at Pedro area. Exhibits recovered from them included: an axe, HTC mobile phone, one Nokia mobile phone, and one Itel mobile phone, which they snatched from one Amusa Bukola ‘f’ of No. 34 Odundi Street Baroga.
Investigation led to the arrest of four other members of the gang namely: Muiyis Saraki ‘m’ “Alias” Bosingwa, 23; Lucky Sunday ‘m’ 27, David Okpa alias “na god ” ‘m’ 29, and Taye Balogun ‘m’ “alias” Gbalagbala, 24.
DSP Elkana said that investigation is ongoing. He also said that the suspects will be charged to Court after the conclusion of investigation over violence and murder.
