The Orashi National Congress (ONC) has announced the indefinite postponement of the highly anticipated Grand Investiture Ceremony originally scheduled to take place on Friday, 17th January, 2025, at the EGI Women Development Center, Akabuka, Onelga, Rivers State.
The ceremony was planned to honour Her Excellency, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, DSSRS, Deputy Governor of Rivers State, as the Grand Patroness of the Orashi National Congress. The event was expected to host prominent dignitaries, including His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, Governor of Rivers State, and other distinguished guests and stakeholders from the region.
In a statement issued by the President General of the ONC, Amb. Comr. Emeni Ibe, AP, JP, the Congress expressed regret over the postponement and extended apologies to all invited guests, stakeholders, and members of the public.
The announcement did not specify reasons for the indefinite postponement, but it assured that the decision was made in the best interest of the Congress and all involved parties. The ONC further pledged to provide updates and a new date for the ceremony when appropriate.
