Amidst the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, respected socio-cultural group, Orashi National Congress, ONC, has made passionate call for peace and unity in the state.
According to the group, the escalating tension within the state’s political landscape has raised concerns about the potential impact on the welfare and stability of its people.
In a statement signed by its President General, Snr. Comrade Emeni Ibe, the ONC emphasized the paramount importance of closing ranks and fostering an environment of peace and stability. The group stressed that meaningful development and progress can only be achieved in an atmosphere free from rancor and instability.
Amb. Emeni Ibe said, “Peace is golden and priceless. We highly appreciate the invaluable nature of peace in fostering progress and prosperity for all residents of Rivers State. We urged all parties involved in the political crisis to prioritize the interests of the state above personal or partisan agendas”.
“The Orashi National Congress therefore, calls for unity of purpose at this critical juncture as Rivers State grapples with political divisions and uncertainty. The state’s development and the well-being of its people are at stake, underscoring the urgent need for cooperation and collaboration among political stakeholders.”
“Our message for peace resonates with many residents of the state, who yearn for an end to the discord and strife that have characterized the political landscape in recent times. We strongly believe that the collective interest of the state must take precedence over individual ambitions or grievances.”
“As Rivers State navigates through these challenging times, at the Orashi National Congress, we stand as a voice of reason and unity, advocating for dialogue, reconciliation, and a renewed commitment to peace. The call to close ranks and give peace a chance reflects a shared aspiration for a brighter and more prosperous future for all residents of Rivers State.”
“In the face of adversity, the Orashi National Congress remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting peace, stability, and progress in Rivers State, echoing the sentiment that together, united in purpose, the state can overcome any challenge that lies ahead”
