In order to make the inaugural edition a glamorous and successful one, organizers of the Community Football Competition tagged Obe Lekansi Cup have commenced early preparation for the tournament.
The competition which is being sponsored by Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, Monsuru Oloyede Bello popularly known as Obe would kick off on October at two centres including Oke Afa football pitch, Jakande Estate, Isolo and Ejigbo mini Sports Centre.
Chairman Organizing Committee, Ahmed Shekoni told our correspondent in Lagos that the registration forms for the competition have commenced saying that each ward would produce two senior and junior football teams to feature for the tournament.
“We have started selling forms to wards that would take part in the competition and I must confess that all the wards in Ejigbo LCDA are looking forward to the competition. The council boss has directed us to extend the registration forms to individuals who can raise football team with the locality for the competition,” he said.
Shekoni and his members visited the council boss recently to present the trophy and jersey to the cup donor.
Shekoni who presented the trophy to the council boss thanked him for showing interest in youth and sports development in Ejigbo and its environs saying that what the council boss did in his first tenure was a clear indication that he deserves second term in office.
He also promised the council boss that the organizing committee are equal to the task and ready to make the inaugural edition a memorable one.
