He stressed that the payments of all the cash prizes opened the road for the beginning of a full planning process ahead of the second edition of the Ogun Women Run which has been scheduled to hold on June 3rd 2023.

He said: “The 2023 edition will be bigger and better than the first edition. We hope to add some more interesting activities that will make the Run more attractive for Nigerian runners to compete. In the 2022 edition, we had one thousand runners compete for honours, but we have mapped out plans to make it bigger with more participants and activities that will attract more highly rated and first-class women distance runners such that, the Ogun Women Run will become the best of such races in Nigeria, since the concentration for strictly Nigerian local runners in the 10km Run.”

The 2022 Ogun Women Run was aimed at empowering the women folks in Ogun State across the board not leaving out anyone. And it ensured healthy living for women in the state and also gave women in the state a voice against any form of oppression and abuse.”

The Ogun Women Run is open to women from all walks of life from ages 18 years to 60. And women who are above 60 years old are only eligible to participate in the ‘Walk Event’ covering 5 kilometres. This is an integral part of the Ogun Women Run.
