Chairman Ikeja Divisional Football Association, Taiwo Alagbe has warned all the participating teams to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations of Manufacturer’s Cup.

Alagbe disclosed this while addressing the representatives of the participating clubs at the draws ceremony of manufacturer’s Cup which held on Saturday at the indoor sports hall of Agege Stadium, Lagos.

Alagbe said he observed that many coaches, players including club owners always attack officials when the results are not on their side on the field of play saying that any club owner or coach found wanting at the manufacturer’s Cup would face disciplinary actions from the organisers.

“Any club that abandon a game shall forfeit the match to the opposing team and face further disciplinary actions. Aside this if we see any club supporters cause trouble shall be suspended from the competition and face disciplinary committee of Ikeja DFA,” he said.

The Ikeja DFA boss urged the club owners, coaches and players to study the rules and regulations manual given to them noted any club violates the rules would be sanctioned accordingly.

“We are going to be strict on our rules and regulations because many of our coaches are not disciplined so we will not protect anybody found wanting because all the teams would be treated equally,” he said.

In their responses, many coaches who chatted with our correspondent said the rules and regulations would be followed to make the competition a memorable one.

Some of them said they were happy with the rules and regulations and urged the organisers to be neutral and give every team an equal chance throughout the competition.

Meanwhile at the draw ceremony,41teams would feature in a knockout format.

The competition which supposed to kick off 18th August has been moved to 10th October tentatively at the Agege Stadium.

The postponement was necessary because presently the Agege Stadium is currently under renovation.
