Reigning African women footballer of the year, Nigerian Asisat Oshoala will Tuesday in Epe, home town of Governor Akinwumi Ambode, impact and train 500 schools girls on rudiments of the round leather games as part of the activities of the week long Lagos State/Asisat Oshoala Foundation Secondary Schools Girls Football Clinic.
Apart from training the girls, Oshoala will also give the students different kinds of gifts courtesy of the Lagos State First Lady, Mrs Bolanle Ambode, who has graciously supported Asisat Oshoala Foundation morally and financially.
PM EXPRESS reports that now fewer than 10 schools within Epe will benefit from the training of their girls as part of Oshoala’s giving back to the society that made her.
Oshoala told P.M.EXPRESS that she has to start the training of the girls from Epe as a gesture of appreciation of the support she received from Lagos State first family, Governor Ambode and his wife. She was so grateful with the endorsement and motherly support her Foundation received from the First Lady in particular.
Items such as jerseys and educational materials will be freely given out to the girls generously.
Already the week long activities for Lagos State/Asisat Oshoala Foundation Secondary Schools Girls Football Clinic started Monday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere with Meet and Greet Asisat.
On Wednesday, the train moves to Teslim Stadium where another round of training session will hold, best players selected and certificates awarded.
On Thursday, there will be training at the Campos Mini Stadium on Lagos Island, visit to less privileged homes and a general hospital where drugs provided by Emzor Pharmaceutical will be distributed.
The grand finale on Friday will see exhibition matches to be played between Team Ambode and Team Asisat on one hand and Selected Girls from the Clinic and Nigerian women league club, FC Robo on the other hand. There will be awards presentation, trophies and special recognition of special guests before the official launch of Asisat Oshoala Foundation.
