The Igbo Community in Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency of Lagos State has publicly denied any ties with Isaac Adewale Nnaji, stating that he is not of Igbo origin and does not represent the South East people in the area.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the  clarification came after information began circulating on social media claiming that Isaac Nnaji is of Igbo extraction. The community said the claim was inaccurate and risked misleading the public.
In an official statement, the Igbo leadership in Oshodi/Isolo made it clear that Mr. Nnaji is not an Igbo man. They added that he has never attended any meeting of Igbo organizations within the constituency nor participated in any communal activities of Ndigbo.
According to the statement, the community conducted its own checks and found no record of Mr. Nnaji being from the South East or having any ancestral or cultural links to the Igbo people.
The leadership expressed concern that such narratives could be a deliberate attempt to stoke ethnic sentiment and manipulate political perceptions ahead of political activities in the constituency.
They warned that spreading false claims about ethnic identity for political gain is dangerous and could provoke distrust, division, and unintended reactions among residents of different backgrounds.
The community stressed that Ndigbo in Oshodi/Isolo have always been committed to peaceful coexistence, democratic participation, and unity with other ethnic groups in the area.
They noted that falsely attaching Igbo identity to individuals undermines the integrity of the community and disrespects the cultural heritage of the South East people.
The Igbo leaders called on the public and media outlets to verify claims about ethnic affiliation before publishing, to prevent the spread of misinformation that could damage inter-community relations.
Concluding the statement, the community reiterated that they remain open to all residents who contribute to the development of Oshodi/Isolo, but will not accept misrepresentation of their identity or the use of their name for political convenience.
The community noted that similar false claim happened in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos over a publication claiming that Igbo Community purchased an APC nomination form for Hon. Ayo Da-Silva, which turned out to be false and does not represent their position.
They warned that this is a dangerous path that does not serve the long-term interest of the party or the constituency. The community maintained that they remain committed to democratic participation, fairness and unity.
