Member, Lagos State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Moshood Oshun, has assured the Lagos Central campers of good welfare as the last phase of Lagos Sports Summer Camp kicks off at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere on Sunday.
The 120 campers will be put through 60 percent sports and 40 percent soft skills during the weeklong camp.
Addressing the campers, aged between 9 and 14, Hon. Oshun urged them to be open-minded and prepare to learn new skills and make new friends in the next one week.
According to the lawmaker, the kids will be involved in a total package, which involves sporting activities, education and innovation, which will make them bond and build teams.
“Part of this administration’s theme is the youth,, which is this initiative for the kids to come out of their parents’ domain in order to have good interaction and training in a conducive environment.
He advised the parents to let their children be “independent” and assured that their Children have been placed in safe hands.
Director School Sports, Lagos State Sports Commission, Oluyomi Oluwasanmi, stated that the last phase has started, as the “best is reserved for the last”, saying that parents’ support has been tremendous.
“The parents are glad for the initiative, bringing their children out of their comfort zone to socialize and learn new things under a controlled environment,” she said.
