Osun Farmers’ Cooperatives Endorses Agritech Nigeria Osun 2018 Event

Farmers’ Cooperatives of Nigeria, Osun State Branch says it will give all its support and mobilise for the Agritech Nigeria Osun 2018 event when it goes down in Osogbo, State of Osun from 20-22 November this year.

The Chairman of Osun State Branch of Farmers’ Cooperatives of Nigeria, Alhaji Olayiwola Adesina made known his association’s support and endorsement for the Agritech Nigeria Osun 2018 during a meeting held with the Team of Agritech Nigeria led by Executive Director, Mr Yahaya Majeed with Program Director, Mr Taiwo Adelu and Director of Logistics, Mrs Adetomilola Olufunmilayo Osonde in Osogbo Thursday evening.

Agritech Nigeria Osun 2018 event, the first-ever in Nigeria, is an international exhibition and conference on agriculture, farm machineries, dairy, poultry, water technology, livestock equipment, agriculture processing technologies and environmental control. It will be organized by the Government of the State of Osun, Fesco Agalu Enterprises Nigeria Limited, Kenes Exhibition of Israel, organiser of Agritech Israel and SIFAX Group of Companies.

Alhaji Adesina said it would be a honour for his farmers’ cooperatives association to involve in an agricultural event of a world class magnitude like Agritech Nigeria Osun 2018, adding that the organisers should be expecting thousands of his members spread across towns and villages in the State of Osun during the Agritech event in November.

Alhaji Adesina further disclosed that they will not only mobilise farmers within the state, but will use their contacts and networking to reach out to other farmers’ cooperatives associations in all the 36 states of the country.

“There is no doubt that the Agritech Nigeria Osun 2018 event is coming at the right time. Our farmers will come for the event because this is what we need. We need improved seedings and modern technologies to take our farming practice to the next level and I want to assure the organisers that this Agritech event will be a success. I’m glad that Osun is hosting this exhibition.,” Alhaji Adesina said.

Executive Director, Agritech Nigeria, Mr Yahaya had earlier told the chairman of Farmers’ Cooperatives Association, Osun state branch that he and his other colleague, Mr Adelu were coming straight from Abuja after attending the SeedConnect Africa Expo 2018 to meet with him in Osogbo. He said that the organisers of Agritech Nigeria Osun 2018 event see the association as a strategic partner, adding that the event will bring modern technologies in agriculture closer to the Nigerian farmers.

“The event will be a melting point where over 1, 000 international and local exhibitors will assemble. A gathering of more than 400,000 visitors all over the world to discuss business opportunities in agriculture,” he said.
