An Osun-based firm, Olusegun Okedele Clean Mining Industries Ltd, has raised concerns over an alleged incident involving unidentified operatives who halted activities at its licensed mining site in Egbeda Village, Boripe LGA, and took two workers into custody.

In a press statement released on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, the company said the incident occurred when some plainclothes individuals who claimed to be operatives from the Zone XI AIG Office arrived at the site in a private vehicle.

According to the statement, the individuals did not present official identification, search warrants, or other documentation upon arrival at the facility.

The company said its site manager, Mr. Amusa Oyekola, presented valid federal mining permits and other legal documents to the operatives. The statement alleges that the documents were not reviewed and that the operatives proceeded with their actions.

The firm further stated that two workers, identified as Mr. Amusa Oyekola and Mr. Bello, were taken from the site. The company alleged that the workers were not allowed to contact their families, legal representatives, or the company management at the time.

The statement also alleged that the operatives used a private vehicle linked to one Mr. Adesina Olusola. The company further alleged that the incident involved other individuals, including Yakubu Yekini of Aiwosi Family Compound, Iragbiji, and Kunle and Tunde Mufutau Oyetola. The company claimed these individuals have previously been involved in disputes over the property.

According to the company, after leaving the site, the operatives directed a representative to meet them at Oke-Bale Roundabout in Osogbo, rather than at a recognized police station. The company said its CEO declined to meet at the location citing security concerns. The statement added that the two workers were later moved to an office facility.

Olusegun Okedele Clean Mining Industries Ltd is calling on relevant authorities to intervene in the matter.

The company is urging the Inspector General of Police, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone XI Command, and the Osun State Government to look into the incident.

Specifically, the company is requesting the immediate release of Mr. Amusa Oyekola and Mr. Bello. It is also asking for an investigation into the conduct of the operatives involved, including allegations of abuse of office and unlawful arrest.

The firm further called for the protection of businesses operating with valid federal licenses in Osun State from intimidation and harassment.

The company maintains that it holds all necessary federal permits to operate at the Egbeda Village site and that it is committed to following due process.

Authorities have not yet issued an official response to the allegations as of the time of this report.
