The downpour of rain across the length and breath of Lagos, the centre of excellence and aquatic splendor on Monday, 29th September, 2025, was indeed a blessing in disguise for the Aworis of Oto-Awori kingdom in the Ojo Local Government Council Area of Lagos.
The day wasn’t just another day, but one of great excitement following the official presentation of the approval letter of appointment of Chief Abimbola Kehinde Avoseh as the “AKOGUN of OTO-AWORI in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos.
At the conference hall of the Lagos Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs & Rural Development, Alausa, Ikeja, to the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry, Hon. Bolaji Kayode Robert, down to the office of the Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University,(LASU), and the hearing of the Aworis Afenifere Initiative, the atmosphere was filled with a spectacle that can only be described as regal.
The approval is not just a mere letter, but one with pride, symbol of authority, heritage, identity and confirmation of Chief Avoseh’s contributions and commitment to the well being and safety of the Oto-Awori kingdom.
The letter was personally presented to Chief Abimbola Kehinde Avoseh in a nostalgic mood by the Commissioner of the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Hon. Bolaji Kayode Robert, in his Alausa office amidst ecstasy.
Addressed to the Executive Chairman of Ojo Local Government Council Area, the letter titled, “Approval of The Appointment of Chief Abimbola Kehinde Avoseh As Akogun of Oto-Awori in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos”, read,
