Following the rising agitations by numerous great Sons and Daughters of Ijebu Igbo for the composition of the Coronation Committee to ensure a befitting coronation ceremony for Prince Lawrence Jayeoba Adedeji Tanimowo Adebajo as the Orimolusi-elect, a renowned Chartered Accountant and Legal Consultant, Otunba Femi Dinah has been appointed the Chairman of the committee.

In a statement by Mr. Jide Seun Fowode, Special Adviser to the Orimolusi-elect on Media & Strategy, Prince Adebajo is appreciative of the patriotic zeal and interest of the Ijebu-Igbo people in ensuring a grand event but as a lover of due process, reconciliation and peace, the Orimolusi-elect consulted widely to ensure that they have an all-encompassing team that will deliver on mandate.

The statement reads in part: “However, after due consultations, the Orimolusi-elect has appointed Otunba Femi Dinah as the Chairman, Coronation Committee.

“Otunba Femi Dinah is a Learned scholar, Chartered Accountant and a Business and Legal consultant. He was a former Executive Director of Finance at Elf Petroleum Nigeria Ltd (now Total Energies), and serves on the board of several companies and organisations. He has a Master’s degree in Law (LLM) from the University of London, (specialising in Corporate and Commercial Law), a second master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), with specialisation in Strategic Management. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and the ACCA of Great Britain. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Directors and an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration (U.K). Otunba Dinah is presently the Chairman of Molusi Microfinance Bank in Ijebu-Igbo.

“Meanwhile, consultation continues with critical stakeholders for the appointment of members into the various Committees and sub- committees. Be assured, the Coronation Committee’s list will be made public once all statutory procedures are sorted out and the State Government officially announces the result of our highly revered Warrant Chiefs’ election. Thank you. God bless.”

After 27 years of waiting, fresh impetus and an invigorating new lease of life descended on Ijebu Igbo in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State following the recent announcement of 69-year old Prince Adebajo as the new Orimolusi.

He would succeed the late Oba Sani Adetayo, who joined his ancestors in May 1994.
