Our Primaries Will Be Transparent & Credible – Says APGA

The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has charged all Electoral Officers, Assistant Electoral Officers, Aspirants, Party Officials, and Members participating in the Party’s Primaries on strict adherence to transparency, accountability, and credibility during the conduct of the exercise.
While highlighting strict adherence to directives, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the National Publicity Secretary of the party stated:
“MANDATORY VIDEO DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENT”
“All Electoral Teams are hereby informed that a mandatory condition precedent for the acceptance and validation of any election result from the wards is the submission of comprehensive video evidence covering the entire electoral process.”
“The video recording must clearly capture the following stages:
Accreditation process of eligible party members/delegates participating in the voting exercise.
Queue formation and orderly participation of party members/delegates during voting.
Counting of votes cast for each aspirant, with figures clearly visible and audibly announced.
Announcement of voting outcomes/results by the Electoral Officer immediately after counting.
Entry and recording of final result figures into the prescribed result forms and related electoral documents.”
“The Party shall not accept, process, or validate any result that is unaccompanied by the required video documentation evidencing compliance with the above procedures.”
CLARITY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Electoral Officer: Responsible for the conduct of the election, vote counting, collation, announcement of results, and completion of prescribed result forms.
Assistant Electoral Officer: Solely responsible for ensuring continuous and uninterrupted video coverage of all stages of the electoral process listed above.
ADDITIONAL TRANSPARENCY MEASURE
All Aspirants are strongly encouraged to independently record video coverage of the electoral process for transparency and personal records.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENT
Electoral Teams and Aspirants must ensure that recording devices are functional, adequately powered, and capable of producing clear audio and visual records before commencement of the exercise.
SUBMISSION OF VIDEOS
All videos should be sent via WhatsApp to the phone numbers attached to this announcement immediately after the conclusion of the exercise.
“This directive is issued to strengthen transparency, preserve the integrity of the primary election process, and safeguard the credibility of outcomes arising therefrom.
Compliance with these directives is mandatory.”
