Owerri Senate: Onyeagocha’s Chances For Victory Rises As Several Groups Endorse His Candidacy

Barely three days to the National Assembly election, there are strong indications that the chances of PDP Candidate for Imo East Senatorial District, Uche Onyeagocha, to win the forthcoming Senatorial election is becoming clearer as different groups in the zone are said to have started aligning in support of this ambition.
Different groups in the zone and beyond are said to have unanimously endorsed his candidacy.
Some of the groups that have endorsed Onyeagocha for Senate included; Owerri zone Indigenes in UK, Owerri zone Indigenes in Diaspora, Azuzi Politcal Mandate, Ohanaeze Ndigbo UK, Forum of Retired Police Officers Owerri zone, Hausa Community Owerri zone, Yoruba Community Owerri zone, Uratta Politcal bloc, Chairman Orlu Elders Council, Owerri League of Patriots, Onyeaghalanwanneya Ezinihitte Mbaise, Okigwe league of professionals, and many other groups in Owerri zone and beyond.
Onyeagocha, who has toured all the politcal wards in Owerri zone, is said to be ahead of his opponents in terms of consultation and reaching out to the electorate. Majority of the Local Government areas in the zone have reassured him of massive support.
Many believe that the colourful reception and solidarity he received across all the politcal wards in the zone and beyond are indication of people’s love for him.
His candidacy is said to be gathering unprecedented momentum following massive support from electorate in the zone.
Investigations reveal that among all the candidates jostling for the Imo East Senatorial seat in the forthcoming election, Onyeagocha seems to be the choice of the people of Owerri zone as  majority of the electorate in Owerri zone may vote for him. This Newspaper gathered that Onyeagocha may score  massive votes in majority of the Local Government areas in the zone.
It was gathered that Onyeagocha is the most talked-about Senatorial Candidate in the state. Tones of voice about his candidacy is already renting the air with clear pointer to his strong voice, audacity and fearlessness which many believe stand him out among his opponents.
Speaking to our Correspondent, a community leader from Ngor Okpala LGA, Chief Simeon Okere, said  “Onyeagocha is the people’s choice. He is a man of proven integrity who will always stand strong to fight and defend the interest of our people. Among all the Senatorial Candidates in Owerri zone, Onyeagocha is the best in my own assessment. He is a man of strong will and proven character. He has all it takes to represent us at the senate”.
Also speaking, a Professor of political science in the University of Nigeria Nsukka, and a native of Ezinihitte Mbaise, Prof. Dan Iheoma described Onyeagocha as the best candidate for senate “He  is very fearless, outspoken and courageous, and that is the type of Senator the people of Owerri zone want. Someone who can stand any adversity and defend the interest of the people”
