Oyetola – A Pivot Of Industrial Harmony

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, State of Osun, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, who doubles as the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the September 22, 2018, governorship election has stated that his commitment to the good welfare of the state workforce will continue to enjoy a priority in his planned government after Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

This assurance, according to him becomes imperative owing to his involvement in all labour issues between the State Government and labour unions ever since he became the Chief of Staff to the Governor.

In a press statement by the Gboyega Oyetola Campaign Organization signed by Dayo Fasola, he condemned the blatant lie on social media platforms that the APC candidate might not run a worker friendly administration.

Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola had recalled that his involvement in various negotiations between labour unions and government had disallowed poor measures by possible inexperienced individuals which could have compounded the poor economic status of workers and pensioners in the state.

The Chief of Staff declared that the interests of workers and pensioners are better guaranteed in the hands of the man who had always interfaced and signed agreements with their leaders and representatives than in the hands of green horns who have no experience of governance.

“I know all dotted lines of all agreements and I can be held accountable and be confronted by the labour leadership on why I must fulfill those agreements. I have been seriously opposed to downsizing of the workforce because that is a corner stone of Aregbesola’s pact with Osun People to provide jobs and not to sack” he said.

Alhaji Oyetola argued that those who insinuated the poor social media attack were ignorant of how government was run and how to engage opponents in constructive political debate. The statement therefore further assured Osun workers that all arrears of deductions shall soon be paid as government awaits some refunds on federal projects spread across the state.
