Oyo Ag. Gov, APM Chairman, Campaign Council Seek Synergy Among Candidates Ahead Of 2027

The Campaign Council of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State, alongside the party’s leadership has called for greater synergy, inclusiveness and reconciliation among candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

 

The call was made at a strategic meeting convened by the Apex Campaign Council and attended by the APM governorship candidate, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly candidates, as well as leaders of the party and the campaign council.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation among candidates, resolving internal concerns and developing a coordinated strategy to secure victory for all APM candidates across Oyo State.

 

Speaking at the meeting, the Acting Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal, urged the candidates and party leaders to remain united and work collectively towards the success of the party in the 2027 elections.

 

He stressed the importance of presenting a common front, maintaining discipline and taking the campaign to the grassroots, noting that victory would depend largely on the ability of the candidates and party structures to work together.

“The task ahead requires unity, commitment and genuine teamwork. If we are determined to win, every candidate must support one another and ensure that our message gets to the people across all the wards and local governments of Oyo State,” he said.»

 

The Director-General of the Campaign Council, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, stressed that the council’s mandate was not limited to the governorship race but also included delivering all APM candidates contesting the National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections.

Adeniran added that part of his mandate was to mobilise and deliver votes for Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential ambition in Oyo State, urging all candidates and party members to work together towards achieving the objective.

 

He urged candidates and party leaders to reach every nook and cranny of the state, saying the party’s logo, candidates and message must get to the doorstep of every household.

The DG also called for serious and genuine reconciliation among party members, urging candidates to return to their respective localities and resolve lingering disagreements.

 

He advised them to avoid unnecessary battles while seeking votes and to bring the “God-factor” into their political engagements.

He further emphasised the importance of party discipline, branding, mobilisation and the availability of campaign souvenirs, while announcing plans for reconciliation meetings across the three senatorial zones of the state.

The APM State Chairman, Otunba Adegbenro Fagbemi, also called for greater cooperation among the candidates, urging members to work “hand in hand” towards achieving the party’s objectives.

Similarly, the Alliance Party Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, described Governor Seyi Makinde as a pillar of hope in Oyo State and stressed the need for the various political actors to work together.

The APM governorship candidate, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, appreciated the party leadership and campaign council, saying the achievements of Governor Makinde had created a strong basis for the party’s campaign.

He urged party members to take the message to the people and work for the success of Governor Makinde and all APM candidates in the 2027 elections.

Speaking on behalf of the Oyo Central Senatorial candidate, Ambassador Ajadi, Hon. Sikiru Sanda acknowledged the guidance of the party leadership and pledged that the advice given at the meeting would be prioritised.

Representing the State House of Assembly candidates, Hon. Sunkanmi Babalola appreciated the campaign council and party leaders, assuring that areas of concern would be addressed while the candidates work together to achieve victory.

Hon. Najeem Oyesina, popularly known as Oshine, thanked Governor Makinde, the Deputy Governor, the Director-General and other party leaders for providing the platform, promising that the candidates would strengthen their collaboration going forward.

The leaders expressed optimism that improved coordination, reconciliation and collective campaigning would strengthen the party’s chances of securing victory across the various elective positions in the 2027 elections.
